Several Oxford University UNIQ Summer Schools have taken place over the last couple of months, with participants sharing their positive experiences.
UNIQ summer schools are designed to help high-achieving A-Level students aged 17-18 from diverse backgrounds experience life as an undergraduate at Oxford University. These programs encourage students to consider applying to Oxford who might not have thought about it before.
Two of the Summer Schools we have been involved in are:
- Economics & Management (E&M) UNIQ Summer School: Held in early July, this program saw 44 students participate in 11 sessions covering topics such as the Economics of Recessions, Management, Financial Markets, Game Theory, Leadership, Reasoning, and Strategy.
- Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE) UNIQ Summer School: Conducted in mid-July, approximately 80 students attended 5 lectures and an admissions session. Topics included ‘How to Change the Past,’ ‘The Economics of Chocolate,’ ‘Utilitarianism and Equality,’ ‘Should We Grant Religious Exemptions from Laws and Rules?’ and ‘Is Consciousness a Physical Property?’
A big thank you to all our students and staff who contributed to making the UNIQ programs such a success!
