We are delighted to announce that we have recruited two new Statutory Professors to the Department of Economics.
Abi Adams-Prassl has accepted the Nuffield Professorship of Economics at Nuffield College, and Noam Yuchtman has accepted the Drummond Professorship of Political Economy at All Souls College.
Abi will take up the Statutory Professorship in January 2023. She is also the Associate Head of Impact and External Engagement in the Department, where she has been based, firstly as an Associate Professor, since 2016, before being promoted to Professor in 2021. Abi’s research sits within Applied Microeconomics, often focused on the econometrics of consumer and family choice. She is the co-founder of the Covid Inequality Project, and sits on the Editorial Board of the Review of Economic Studies and the Governing Council of the Royal Economic Society. She also acts as a Specialist Advisor for the UK Parliament Equalities Select Committee.
Noam Yuchtman, who will join the Department in October 2023, has been Professor of Managerial Economics and Strategy at the London School of Economics since in 2019, having been awarded a British Academy Global Professorship. In addition to his position at LSE, Noam is a co-editor of Economica and serves on the editorial boards of the Review of Economic Studies, the Economic Journal, and the Journal of Economic History. Noam's research is focused on topics in the fields of political economy, economic history, and labour economics.
Congratulations to both Abi and Noam on their appointment to these prestigious Professorships.
