The Department of Economics has one goal regarding diversity – to be recognised as a community that celebrates the background, culture, rights and values of all its members. We want staff and students of any age, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, form of neurodivergence, race, religion and belief, to truly feel welcome.
A more inclusive environment offers significant benefits to our entire community. A richly diverse department will lead us to produce a wider pool of talented economists – at Oxford, nationally, and internationally – all of which we need to take responsibility for.
We are determined to increase diversity within our department, and help influence change in the wider Economics community. We have already established some positive initiatives that are making a difference, with many more to follow.
